Thinking of having a Baby?

If you’re thinking of starting a family soon, give yourself plenty of time to plan ahead.  This includes improving the overall health of each parent for at least 3 months and then discussing the times of the month to start trying.

If there are irregularities posing challenges to fertility-male or female- I can help improve your situation for the best possible outcome.

Education is a key part of this process. I spend time with my female patients to help them understand their cycles, learn about the hormones that dictate their cycles and identify hormone imbalances that may be causing the cycle irregularity or inability to conceive or stay pregnant.

Each partner is only 50% of the equation. By doing a minimum 3 month detox and optimizing each partner’s health before trying to concieve allows each partner to put forth their best DNA.

If a woman has irregular cycles-even by 2-3days from month to month, this can make it more challenging to know when to “try” without the right information and tools.

If the woman’s cycles are even more irregular from month to month, and/or she has other symptoms of acne, oily skin, unwanted hair growth, weight gain, then we may be dealing with some more significant hormone imbalances-often described as PCOS.  Having such hormone imbalances can pose several different challenges with getting pregnant or even knowing when to try!

I have seen women who have had never had regular periods, women who have not had a period in over 10 years (under 40 years old), women who “lost” their period after a significant weight loss, and LOTS of women whose periods do not return for several months after getting off birth control pills.  Yet, those women were told to go on birth control pills to “regulate their periods.”

Whichever situation, I LOVE working with these women to offer them holistic solutions that uncover the underlying imbalance and then regulate the hormones responsible for ovulation and implantation.

This can include hormone testing, some blood work, temperature charting, acupuncture, herbs and supplements.  Acupuncture is an integral part of regulating cycles and improving blood flow to reproductive organs, as well as calming the mind and body to provide the best possible outcome.

I see my patients throughout their pregnancies and more frequently after week 37 of pregnancy in preparation for labor and birth.

Finally, I have the privilege to meet my patient’s babies’, supporting parents through the many challenges of early parenting and offer advice that is best for the family unit to thrive those early years.

If you’re thinking of having a baby or have been trying without success, let’s have a discussion on how we can optimize your fertility
